Aren’t we all suckers on stories of defeats because that’s when we associate ourselves with other people and that’s where we get our inspiration and courage to “get back to the ball game and finish our game.”

So here are more stories of defeats and failures of people we never thought to be losers until of course, their stories were published here. :D

  • BILL CLINTON

    Bill Clinton, having served one term as governor of Arkansas, lost his bid for re-election in 1980.

    Bill Clinton was re-elected governor of Arkansas in 1982, 1984, 1986 and 1990, elected 42nd president of the United States in 1992, and re-elected in 1996. He survived an impeachment trial in 1998.

  • BILL GATES

    Bill Gates dropped out of Harvard University in 1975.

    That same year, Bill Gates formed Microsoft Corporation with Paul Allen. Gates designed the software to run the first micro-computers and became the world’s richest man.

  • AXL ROSE and IZZY STRADLIN

    Axl Rose and Izzy Stradlin earned eight dollars an hour smoking cigarettes as part of a scientific study at UCLA.

    Axl Rose and Izzy Stradlin founded the heavy metal group Guns N’ Roses, best known for their album Appetite for Destruction, including the hit song “Sweet Child of Mine.”

  • ORVILLE WRIGHT

    Orville Wright was expelled from the sixth grade for “mischievous behavior.

    Wright went on to invent the world’s first power-driven airplane with his brother Wilbur in 1903.

  • JOHN DENVER

    John Denver threw a party to celebrate the publication of his high school yearbook and no one showed up.

    John Denver became an internationally-famous recording star, best remembered for his pop ballads “Sunshine on My shoulder” and “Rocky Mountain High,” and starred in the movie Oh God!

  • CHARLOTTE BRONTE

    Charlotte Bronte’s first novel, The Professor, was rejected by several publishers and wasn’t printed until 1857 — two years after her death.

    Charlotte Bronte is the author of the classic novel Jane Eyre.
