Although it may seem offbeat going to the beach in December, it was still a wonderful experience and I would say, The Beach Is Still The Best Place To Be!
Our company deviated from our annual traditional Christmas party and decided to spend it in Subic with tours, shows and swimming on the side. Needless to say, I was disappointed because I voted for the party but the majority won and albeit the coldness of December, our pack went to Ocean Park and Camayan Beach Resort.
At first, I was really bored. We went to a park tour where we saw few animals in their cages and to an aquarium tour where I was a little amused with the colorful fishes in their tanks and while doing so, I was actually thinking of going to the soon to be opened Manila Ocean Park.
The highlights of My Subic Experience started during the Sea Lion Show where we met the adorable and highly talented (or trained) Madison and her trainor (the bonus eihihihi..) JV. Madison was really cute, she performed a lot of tricks and each time she would flash us her big smile, I wanted to hug her and take her home with me!
Our group went next to the dolphin show. It was in a hot area and we waited a long time before the show started. Finally, the three bottle-nose dolphins arrived along with Tonka, the killer whale! I was in love with Tonka, the big one! He was a playful and cheerful whale with a really cute grin, he was all grinning when he teasingly splashed with water two of our officemates who volunteered touching Tonka and the dolphins.
Our day ended at the beach, it was a beautiful beach with white sand and a lovely view of the mountains. I just slept though, I wasn’t brave enough to swim under the hot sun! After summer, I started using whitening formulas to remedy my sun-burned skin and I was not going to trade those efforts off with some hours lounging in the water.

All in all, it was an eventful day and one I would not forget. Thanks to Madison and Tonka, I had a lovely Christmas Treat in Subic.

Glad they opened again. Ang sarap manood ng mga tricks ng dolphins…at sea lions. Months after we went there two (or three) years ago, they closed the dolphin shows dahil may namatay na dolphin.
I saw nga last week yung billboard ng Manila oceanarium sa EDSA, can’t wait. I’m sure dadayuhin tayo ng mga tourists, para patuloy na tumaas ang peso pero now di pa din maramdaman ang purchasing power ng peso kahit P41 na lang ang palitan ng dollar. Wish, madami ng mabili ang piso. Hay, may piso pa bang pandesal? Hahaha. I’m off the topic. Hahaha.
Let’s spread love love love…Happy holidays, mare. See you soon. Kisses to Marcuz.

i’v heard nga merong mga activists against ocean park, nahihirapan nga rin kc ang mga dolphins and sea lions sa training. kawawa nga rin sila.
i can’t agree more with the “love” part.

How grand! Walking through the aquarium, maloloka siguro ako! Lalo ni si Jed, siguradong sobrang maaaliw. Yung aquarium nga sa mall na pagkaliit ayaw iwanan eh.
Uy balitaan mo ko pag bukas na sila ha.
Mwah!

i would also love to spend Christmas sa beach. would you recommend this resort for a family with kids?
#12 by mhel - December 16th, 2007 at 21:27
sis kengks…
yes i would… its actually beside the ocean park lang, walking distance lang and the guides will bring you there after the tour and show.
the beach is nice, malinis and white sand. malinis din ang public cr nila but they also have private rooms if you would stay overnight. i did not saw a lifeguard though so if ul go der sis, be watchful of the kids.
