Tricks of Free Online Stores

January 24, 2008 · Filed Under blogging, business, general

If you’re planning of opening an online store, I suggest you get a hosted and paid shopping cart software from reputable providers.

Do not be deceived by free online store builders like ecrater dot com. I was really disappointed with my venture with ecrater. I’ve decided to open my first online store with them because I loved their layout and their ecommerce software seem fully loaded so I immediately stuffed my free store account with logos and products!

During the first week, the store was operating okay, it even got visitors coming from my blog because I linked it. On the second and third week, to my dismay, when I went to my store and clicked at the categories hoping to see my beautiful templates for sale, there were no products in my listing! And what made me furious more was inside my store, all you’ll find are google adsense!!!

What did you make of it? They obviously made a fool of me. They offered me a free store so I can make it pretty with all my ideas and logos and descriptions and designs so they can embellish it with advertisements and give them money!!! My store is now on top of google and yahoo’s search list for the keyword marikenya eventhough it’s not showcasing my products. Tsk… tsk… They profited and continuously profiting from their scheme.

I hope you won’t make the same mistake I did. If you must open an online store, buy an ecommerce software or be conscientious and choose free providers with indeed good reputations.

He belongs to a very rare breed of public officials that really walk the talk. I think he deserves all the support he can get from Filipinos. :D
