I have met Francis Kong few years back. He was our guest speaker in one of our company’s events. I never even had the change of saying “hi” to the man but I was so moved by his talk that I bought a copy of his book and felt so closer to him since then.
Francis Kong is a very powerful motivational speaker. His words are very inspiring and he’s what I call a “passionate and consumate speaker.” A year ago, I have attended a trainers’ training on using laughter in presentations and I have met several powerful speakers who actually use humor in their presentations, among the best I really loved listening to are Bayani Fernando and Francis Kong.
This morning, I woke up very hopeful. I smiled at my husband, prepared breakfast for both of us and kissed my Marcus goodbye and set off to work. I look forward to a busy day and I prayed that God would help me accomplish everything that I need to do.
This morning, I also promised myself to inspire others by sharing a wonderful story from my favorite book from Francis Kong, One Day At A Time. I hope that it would be helpful to you was it was to me.
The Power of Choice
Tell me honestly: how do you choose to live your day?
I’ve thought about this when I wake up in the morning and talk to myself. Silently of course or else, I’ll scare my wife. “Francis, today you will choose to be a happy person.,” because logic seems to indicate that the day would turn out to be difficult.
Again I tell myself, “Francis, you will choose to be peaceful” because I know problems beset me. Though worry hovers ready to attack, I will choose to be calm and controlled. Cool and confident. Nothing and no one can stop me from making that choice.
The world may take our money away from us. The economy may take our jobs away from us. But there’s something nobody and no economy can take away from us, it is the freedom to choose!
Our life is simply a summary of the choices we make from day to day.
Not what you have, but what you see;
Not what you see, but what you choose;Not what seems fair, but what is true;
Not what you dream, but what you do.Not what you take, but what you give;
Not as you pray, but as yu live.These are the things that mar or bless;
The sum of human happiness.
As I always say, it is a matter of attitude. I agree with Francis, Life is what we make it. Let’s enjoy our day, shall we?
