To Party Or Not To Party? Tips 101 for a Successful Children’s Party

My son will soon be turning seven and according to Filipino custom, once a child turns seven, the celebration should be big time. It’s like having a grand debut party for an eighteen year old lass.

What I wasn’t aware of was that my husband has been thinking about the 7-year-old party for our son since last year. He was thinking of a typical McDonalds party or one with Kentucky Derby Party Invitations. I am thinking otherwise though. I wanted a special party that is custom made and real fun.

When my son turned one, I together with some family and friends, arranged the birthday party on our own. It was such a success and the kids loved the food, the toys, the games, and the fun. so I am not about to settle for a “convenient” and hassle-free kid party for my son when I can give him the best using my ingenuity and effort. Of course, it need not be pricey since we’re not rich.

So, let me share with you some tips for a successful fun-filled birthday party for your child.

  • Get good party clowns, those who can do magic tricks. Children love magic and having an entertaining clown in a party is a sure hit!
  • Prepare your goody bags, do not buy the pre-made ones. This way, you will be able to save more money and in turn, you will be able to put more items in the goody bags. You can buy candies, kids’ toys and other items from the local market or groceries. You may buy the goody bags from stores selling plastic bags, also available in local market or groceries.
  • Prepare finger foods and foods that kids can eat on their own. Much better, prepare different sets of food for kids and adults. Chicken lollipop, spaghetti, and bread are the usual favorites. For dessert, try making chocolate fondue. It would definitely be a hit!
  • Have either an Ice Cream or Cotton Candy Maker Booth or Machine. You’ll see the line to that booth will be the longest!
  • Prepare fun activities like balloon twisting where an adult show them how to do some creations like dogs or cats then provide them with materials to work with. They will love this because its interactive and they can bring home their very own creations.
  • For small girls, you can have an activity like bead making. Girls love these things and they’ll be thrilled to go home wearing the blings they created.
  • Motivate participants to games by displaying the cool toys they can win. Divisoria are the best place to shop for inexpensive toys that will catch kids’ attentions.

    Have a nice party!
