Is Summer Over?

May 15, 2008 · Filed Under general, travel

The weather in the Philippines has been somewhat unpredictable. One day, we were under the terribly hot summer sun and then the next day, it was raining and with forecast of typhoons. During the last weeks, I attempted to put color in my summer mood by writing articles about dream vacations and summer travels. I was hoping to be in one of those this year but the summer is almost over and I still haven’t been to beaches or out of town.

Last week, I got an invite from a balikbayan friend to Puerto Galera, the beach hub in Mindoro. To my dismay (again), my schedule was a havoc and I wasn’t able to go with them. In order to pacify my self from my ruined summer gimmick, I have decided to write about bora bora, one of the ultimate summer destinations in the world.

marikenya in bora bora?

This island in french polynesia is the ultimate haven for beach lovers. What’s more, swimming and walking along the beach are not the only activities you may indulge in while you’re in this part of tahiti. There’s a long list of fun things to do here, see this list from boraboraisland dot com:

  • For the adventurous, try the 4×4 safaris, parasailing, deepsea & sportfishing, shark and ray feeding, hiking and climbing.
  • You want to experience the culture and spirit of the place? the island fun eco-cultural and nature tours, lagoon excursions, horseback riding, light tackle fishing, Aquasafari and Lagoonarium tours, camping, and flightseeing.
  • More recreational activities includes casual walking, bicycle riding, tennis, volleyball, billiards and massage.

See you there next summer! :D

how sad! been to puerto galera this weekend and we enjoyed the trip very much! so many tourist but its sad that most of them leave the garbage they produced in the beach specially barbeque’s sticks that will be dangerous to the bakasyonistas. i think proper authorities should address this problem ASAP or else it will be disaster.
