In my circle of friends alone, I was the first blogger among us and about 5 to 20 percent only of those I know are familiar with blogging or own a blog using free blog platform services. I even have friends who have been blogging with friendster and multiply for a long time but not really understanding how blogs can affect or even influence people or, the society in general.
Many of my friends have been asking me about blogging since they found out about www.marikenya.com. Let me take this opportunity to explain in some simple words what blogging is.

Marikenya’s Blogging 101What is a Blog? Blog is short for weblog or a website. It is a series of online posts presented in reverse, chronological order, meaning, the latest entry is always on the top-most page of the site.. Blog usually contains a blogger’s journal or description of events, commentary or review, description of innermost thoughts or feelings, or anything that a blogger wanted to share with the world in text or in any graphical presentation like photos or videos.
Although many of those I know are interested to become bloggers, many of them would easily say, I don’t have the skills in writing. Truth is, there are so many things a blog can feature or contain, not just well-written articles. In my next post, we will be talking more about the types, niches, and terms you should know if you are interested in this modern craze called blogging.
