An Accolade from a Reader
Posted by mhel in Uncategorized on October 31st, 2008
Here is another email I got from a reader, Riza, a Filipina in the U.S. –
ShareHi! I am a website owner in the USA. I was searching for blogs and websites from the Philippines by Filipinos and I came upon your website.I highly appreciate what you are doing for the town of Marikina, and for the Philippines as well.
I have seen so many Filipino blogs that are useless and are cheap imitations of western blogs.
Keep up the good work, promote your town, and in so doing, the Philippines also. Please emphasize more on our positive aspects, not on hanging our dirty linen online, for the whole world to see and know!Be proud that you/we are Filipino! MABUHAY TAYONG LAHAT!

Online Store Affiliate Marketing Strategy for Bloggers
Posted by mhel in Uncategorized on October 29th, 2008
There are three ways to earn from affiliate marketing:(1) via cost per impression (CPI); (2) through pay-per-click advertising (or cost per click, CPC); and (3) per sale transaction. The first one is the easiest to generate if you have a good traffic, every generated impression is paid for but the hitch is the pay is usually small for this scheme, usually some $.0+++ for every hundred impression. Pay-per-click advertising works a little harder for the publisher since he/she will be paid depending on the number of visits to the advertisers’ site using the link from his/her blog but the pay is better than the CPI. The third one targets direct sales and harder to promote for the publisher but the pay is the best. Usually, the publisher gets a certain percentage based on the amount of the sold product(s).
If you are interested in becoming an affiliate publisher and run stores of advertisers in your site, try the Pepperjam Store Builder. With Pepperjam, you can easily create network product feeds from Pepperjam Network Advertisers which includes Ebay, DKNY, Sesame Street, and New Line Cinema among others. You may also choose the color of the product background and font display to suit the layout of your blog.

The light from the lamp post behind the fountain illuminates it creating an illusion of a bright light on top of the fountain. It’s a really pretty photo. Sorry for not staying wordless.
A Stressful Night at the Hospital
Posted by mhel in Uncategorized on October 29th, 2008
Along the way, I received a text message from my nanay which made me nervous. She said she was brought to the hospital by a co-worker because of massive palpitation. My mom has been suffering from hypertension for a long time now and is taking medicines for maintenance. When I reached the hospital, the nurse informed me my mom’s blood pressure shot up to 190/110 which is really high. I had to run to the drugstore to buy her medicines and to the canteen to buy pineapple juice. I walked to the drugstore amidst the heavy rain without the comfort of an umbrella. The doctor advised that in order for her BP to go down, she needs to urinate as much as she can.

Christmas has always done that to me. I always feel happy just thinking about this special day. Once the months of “Ber” early set in, I start panicking about Christmas presents and menus for the noche buena. Today, I pulled my special notebook from my drawer and started making my Christmas list.

Fashion Alert for Shopping Lovers
Posted by mhel in Uncategorized on October 25th, 2008
One of my favorite fashion shop is located at Marikina Blue Wave Mall, the Hot Stuff. I love the clothes, the earrings, the watches and almost all stuff on sale there. Each time I come to the this mall, I make it a point to make a quick, and sometimes, long trip to my fave boutique. Going to Hot Stuff has been a consistent habit for me, no wonder the proprietor — the friendly and pretty Nora, has become a good friend of mine.
