It was quite a week. My best friend Rizza whom I fondly call Pops celebrated her birthday. I asked her to spend her evening with me so we can stay together during her special day. Before our date, I made a quick dash to the mall to pick a really cute bag as a gift for her. At 6pm, we headed to SM Marikina.
We decided to have our dinner at the Old Spaghetti House. I knew this restaurant way back in college because I used to pass by its branch in Aurora almost every day going to school. It was both our first time to eat at the Old Spaghetti House. We met the manager/proprietor of the store while having a hard time deciding what to order who in turn offered good suggestions on what to choose. We ordered their popular seafood alfredo and their best-selling american baked spareribs. Pops loved the pasta and and I was all praised after I tasted the spareribs. I also enjoyed their strawberry shake which was recommended by their friendly food attendant.
We had a lovely dinner so to speak and because were stuffed, we decided to skip until later the dessert. We shopped until closing time but before we went out of the mall, I bought Pops a creamy and delicious-looking cake at the Sugarhouse.
My husband picked me up after Pops left and I found out there’s another festive treat for the night. We went to Meyoks, one of our fave bar in Marikina, just in front of the Bluewave Mall, to meet friends who are also couples. We drank some beer and had a good time. Sometime after midnight, our friend said “let’s go to the spa.” I was immediately thrilled. I love spas! Also, our favorite spa, the Seven Senses is just some blocks away from where we are. My husband and I frequented this spa because we enjoy the ambiance and the facilities.
It was my friend and her husband’s first spa date and I was very happy for them. Upon entrance to the spa, she announced it’s going to be her treat because she closed a good business deal that week. She just made my day and night!
Needless to say, the spa treat was lovely. A welcome treat for all of us four. We tried and enjoyed all the spas facilities — the shower, jacuzzi and the steam bath. I was very thankful I was not wearing contact lenses because it would definitely get lost or ruined in the water. I lost my earring in the midst of the excitement. We stayed in different couple’s rooms and enjoyed the massage immensely. It was indeed a festive day. Made me feel brand new, can’t wait to start the week ahead.
