Every Wednesday and Thursday now is a ritual for me and my friends Beth and Meann to go home early so we can watch our favorite American Idol Season 8.
We are so addicted to this show. I rarely missed an episode from the audition to the elimination and especially now with the week’s performance of the Top 13. Every week, I am entertained not only by the performers but the performances of the judges and the show’s host Ryan Seacrest himself.
This week, the top 13 sang Michael Jackson’s greatest hits. This early too, I already have my favorites picked out. I am rooting for Lil Rounds, Danny Gokey, Anoop Desai, and Scott Mclntyre. But this week, there are outstanding performances also by Allison Iraheta and Adam Lambert and in the few days, I would not be surprised if I switch favorites or probably add some more…
In truth, I hardly watch television shows. I love watching movies though and since we don’t have a cable at home, I really like it whenever I develop a fondness for certain shows. It’s too cool having favorite TV shows which help me relax after a tiring day at work.
And maybe because my secret dream (not very secret anymore) is to become a singer, I just love this hit show in America. I know that if I have the talent, no matter how raw it is, I would try out for our local version of this show, the Pinoy Idol (which I hope they improve tremendously if they are planning for another season). Wow, imagine singing your heart out at the same time earning so much you can go any Singapore or Orlando vacations or to any destination around the world. Wow, that would be the coolest!
Would you believe, I’m actually watching the replay now as I’m doing this post? I am certainly addicted to this show!
