Anywhere around the world, there are security bridges in technology — hacking incidents on servers, online banking accounts, websites, and blogsites. There are also a lot of online criminals (termed as scammers) lurking around the net waiting for the millions of internet users to trust them and soon as they do, they would rob them off their money and online investments. Surely, technology opened an opportunity for online crimes to be committed. Unfortunately too, policing and security is lacking in this area.

I can speak clearly of this as I have been recently victimized by a scammer which ran away scott-free with my money and my blog’s database. I tried investigating this bogus geek and found out a lot of information about him but after learning so much, the next question is — where can I go to ask help? Clearly, there are no cyber crimes law yet that would protect “small mediapreneurs” like me from scammers.

My learning from this sad experience: if you own a personal or a corporate website, you better send yourself or your IT personnel to a course on Information Security. These courses may be taken conveniently by enroling with an online MS in Information Security course ran by schools like Lewis University. Personally, I find the courses offered by this online university very interesting and a good investment if you wanted or already invested in technology. For instance, one of its courses Master of Science in Information Security provides a comprehensive training on the practice and theoretical basis of IT on a global scale. For large companies running large servers and interconnected databases, IT experts who are products of this university will surely count as assets since they can be expected to play the role of troubleshooters not only in the technical aspect of information technology but even with regard to legal and ethical issues and battles,

If I can afford this course, I may try getting in to study how I can further protect this site from technical glitches and evil-motivated hackers and scammers. If only this site offers online scholarship or online coupon codes to provide opportunity to not financially well-off bloggers like me. :D

Thanks for sharing such a nice article,it highlights a lot of the issues extant today.
Obviously, insecurity is growing briskly whilst advanced technology and networks. Hackers are more comprehensive, crumble the risk as a penetration tester and even get more.
