Because of the terrible heat and the busyness of the season, I feel drained. Physically and otherwise, I feel the need for a vacation, or better yet, a cold vacation.
I am now a fan of the popular Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) of ABS-CBN Channel 2 which air from Mondays to Saturdays. There was a time that one of the housemates from the PBB house from the Philippines, Caty, swithed house with a PBB housemate from Finland. Before the day Cathy was supposed to return to the Philippines, the housemates were startled when snows began falling down. I’m not sure whether PBB just set up the snow rain but nevertheless, even if I was just watching from the television, I can feel the exitement of actually joining a snowfight or making a snowman or toboganing.
Many filipino children, including me during my youth, have always wished for a white Christmas. By white, we meant a chilling Christmas filled with crystal-white snows. It’s one of my wildest dreams, to actually spend a holiday in a snow-filled land have the happiest ski vacation of my life. A priest who is a friend of mine just reminded me yesterday to continuously believe in the power of prayers and your dream may come true.
Why not? Dreaming is among one of the rares free things in this world and if I wanted a snow-filled Christmas, maybe next yar, who knows, I’ll be spending winter in the West…
