When people help one another, pains due to losses will be lighter. In the case of Marikina, this maybe true.

On spotlight today is the Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation which volunteers unselfishly helped the Ondoy flood victims of the city of Marikina last September, 2009. Tzu Chi Foundation, through its kind and judicious leader, Master Cheng Yen of Taiwan, focused their relief efforts on our dear city providing relentless aids to Marikenyos who suffered losses of lives and properties.
Tzu Chi Foundation, aside from providing medical and financial aid to Ondoy victims, also helped in the physical restoration of the city through the cleanup process. Our community is among the beneficiary of the relief efforts of the foundation and although I am not a direct beneficiary, I am very grateful for Tzu Chi Foundation for extending such kindness and compassion to the citizenry of Marikina.
To the Tzu Chi volunteers from Taiwan and all parts of the world, mabuhay kayong lahat and may you continue grow in numbers so more people will be helped and be inspired by your mission. Thank you.
