Are you still making your new year’s resolution? As for me, I’m still continuing listing down what I wanted accomplished or changed this year and it’s becoming a long list, I hope I’d be able to accomplish at least half of it somehow.
One of the resolutions I seriously noted down has something to do with planning our future, my family’s future and mine. I am not good with savings, probably because there’s not much money to save, but also because I’m not good with financial management, especially of my own. Being addicted to shopping did that to me.
This year, I am resolving that I would save more and look for good investments (even small ones) just so I can improve our economic security. I grew up from a poor family where both parents were self-employed and did not even have social security disability benefits or pensions. They were busy surviving for our family and had no time to think of securing their lives as elderlies which of course, I am forever grateful for without them, I’d be nothing.
I have learned from their experience though that it’s important to plan and act in securing our future. I already made the mistake of not getting educational insurance plan for my son nor health insurance plan for myself or my husband but I hope I can still start saving for our family’s future. Hopefully.
