Summer Travel Safety Tips
Already set for your summer travel trip? Before packing your stuff and jumping into that plane, bus or ship, it would be helpful to take into consideration various travel tips. By knowing expert tips on traveling, you will be somehow assured of an enjoyable summer holiday.
For those traveling abroad, note these basic travel reminders:
1. Review your travel documents — passports, plane tickets, visa(s), hotel accommodation advisory, etc.
2. Important documents and necessities should be in your carry-on luggage or hand-carry. These valuables include travel documents, medication, expensive jewelries and gadgets. I would suggest you also pack extra clothing in your hand carry (a piece of shirt, undies, and pants or short) so even if your luggage get lost in transit or experience delay, you have something to change on.
3. Take the expert business travelers advise: “take twice as much money and half as many clothes as you think you’ll need.” Maybe not easy on the pocket but today, airlines usually enforce policies like “one piece of carry-on luggage” rule. This is especially enforced on full flights so travel as light as possible. ATMs and credit cards will come in handy too.
4. Keeping duplicate copies of important travel documents just in case you lost the original copies, you will have references.

Are You Into Pills?
Posted by mhel in general, health and fitness on February 21st, 2010

While going around Riverbanks mall yesterday, my eyes were fixated on a stall selling different large bottles of pills. I believe most of those are imported and came from different countries such as America, China, Taiwan, etc.
For almost every need, there are medicinal pills you can take and you can simply buy them in these stalls, not pharmacies, and no need for a doctor’s prescription.

In the last weeks, I was a consistent watcher of Pinoy Big Brother double up TV show. Coming from a long day of work, I watch late-night shows that will truly entertain me and make me laugh to help me relax after a long day’s work.
Watching PBB do that to me, especially when there are specials on the popular housemates Melissa and Jason, more known as Melason.

Pinoy Summer Destinations for 2010
Summer started very early this year and not surprisingly, a lot of families and friends have already planned or already planning their 2010 summer destinations.
If you are going out of town this summer, your choices will be to go local or international. This decision will depend highly on budget or affordability and desire to visit a particular place.
For Metro Manilans who wanted to go out of town for a swim or nature tripping, the best bets are Tagaytay, Bulacan, Laguna, Cavite and Batangas. For those with better budgets, Baguio, Puerto Galera, and Ilocos are top favorites too.

Posted by mhel in about marikina, general, health and fitness on February 19th, 2010
Since I was advised by a doctor to undergo laboratory examinations such as fasting blood sugar or FBS testing and ECG examination, I called up the Marikina City Health Office this morning. The lab testings will determine the potentiality of health issues such as occurrence of diabetes or heart disease. Since lab tests are usually expensive, I am looking for cheap alternatives so I inquired about the services of the health office of Marikina which I believe is way cheaper.
If you are also looking for such information, take note of their schedule and rates:
For FBS or fasting blood sugar: Monday to Friday, 8 to 9AM. Rate is P100.00, 20% discount is given to senior citizens. Note that you have to undergo fasting before the testing, no water and food intake from 9:00PM the night before until the next morning for the FBS. For more inquiries, call Marikina CHO Laboratory at 942-0831.

Quick Tips for Starting Bloggers
Have you been wanting to set up your own blog or blog site? Why wait?
Setting up your own blog or personal website is very easy specially if you will opt to use free blog platform services as all you need to do is register with them and voila, you can choose your own domain name and have your instant blog in minutes! The hitch is since it’s hosted free, you will have to bear having the platform host together with your domain name. Here is an example: yourblog.freeplatform.com. Another hassle is that you will be promoting the ads and other services of the free platform service, there are even platform service which do not allow the blogger to advertise while other free hosting company advertise through the blogger’s site but do not offer profit-sharing to the blogger.
If you have just setup your own blog or blog site, whether its free-hosted or self-hosted, the next step is to write good contents to make it readable and interesting. Blogs simply do not establish followers, blog writers make a lot of efforts to establish his/her blog by writing well-researched and well-written articles or blog posts.
