Summer started very early this year and not surprisingly, a lot of families and friends have already planned or already planning their 2010 summer destinations.
If you are going out of town this summer, your choices will be to go local or international. This decision will depend highly on budget or affordability and desire to visit a particular place.
For Metro Manilans who wanted to go out of town for a swim or nature tripping, the best bets are Tagaytay, Bulacan, Laguna, Cavite and Batangas. For those with better budgets, Baguio, Puerto Galera, and Ilocos are top favorites too.

Vacationers who can afford some luxury fly to favorite tourist spots in the Philippines. Topping this list are Palawan, Boracay, Bohol, Cebu, and Davao.
Those with bigger budgets and wanted to experience totally different culture and sceneries go on overseas vacations. For Pinoys, Asia countries are top choices which include Hongkong, Singapore, Macau, and Thailand. Air fare in these countries are far cheaper than those outside of Asia. Countries in the US and Europe are also favorite destinations but traveling to these places are very expensive and tedious because of requirements like travel Visa. However, those wanting a taste of American beaches, you may want to try North Carolina’s Outer Banks vacation rentals.
Wherever you plan to go this summer, the more important thing than budget is spending vacations with people who matters most and going to the vacation prepared to enjoy fully what summer has to offer. Have fun!

I’d say, visit the Philippines first!
Tangkilikin ang sariling atin!
There are lots of places to go to considering the geography of our country. Personally, I prefer to go to not-so-popular tourist spots coz they’re not crowded and you get to mingle with the locals. Ayoko kasi nagmumukhang tourist tapos bebentahan ka ng kung anu-ano (like in Baguio), or worse mabikitima ng mga mapagsamantala.
BTW to all who are going on vacation, please learn to be responsible tourists. Wag magkalat and minimize the use of plastic. Wag din ihi ng ihi kung saan saan. I’m not sure if this is true but I learned from one blog that sunscreen is actually damaging to corals. Basta let’s all take care of our earth coz we just borrowed it from the grandchildren of our granchildren.
Have a safe and happy vacation to all! ^_^
