Looking for a Near Summer Getaway? Try 9 Waves of Ciudad Christia.

Our company recently held this year’s summer outing which was held at the newly redeveloped resort in San Mateo which I used to frequent when I was young, the Ciudad Christia Resort now known as 9 Waves.

Revisiting this place brings back memories of my childhood but I must say, almost everything changed. The old Ciudad Christia was quite small with only two swimming pools available and a small-sized slide and diving board. The new 9 Waves has expanded wonderfully seating big swimming pools with waves and tall slides.

Let us tour the whole resort shall we? Photos courtesy of Ramil Nafarrete, a nice young man from MISCC.

Unlike in the past, the management is now really strict. I remember we used to bring everything to Ciudad, from cooked to raw food to water and alcoholic beverages. See their rules to be guided:

  • Cooked foods, fruits in plastic containers, grilling of meat/ fish (in a foil), water and juice are allowed. (This rule remained and which made 9 Waves a popular choice versus Club Manila East, a resort with waves too, where guests are not allowed to bring any kind of food inside the resort.)
  • Beverages with alcohol content, liquors, beers and softdrinks are not allowed inside the resort. Light beer and softdrinks are exclusively sold at the resort. (They used to allow paying corkage for these kind of beverages.)
  • Electronic appliances brought in shall be subject to a corkage fee of P100.00 per unit. (Quite expensive right? The fee applies to chargers of cellular phones, MP3 players, and PSP players as well.)

View from the top. There are three swimming pools for patrons: an adult pool, a kiddie pool and the wave pool. Picnic huts are available for rental for groups who simply wanted to lounge in the pool areas while air-conditioned-rooms and cottages are available for guests who wanted privacy and comfortable accommodation.

The double loop water slide, very feisty. Do not allow your children to try it without adult supervision.

Wow i love it. No doubt the entrance fees have increased.
Share ko lang, Marikina Sports Center’s swimming pool is open up to 9:30 PM this summer season. I have no idea how much the entrance fee is but I’m sure na it’s lower than most resorts since it only has one pool with no slides. They also have strict rules on swimwear. I’m kind of in the heavy side so I really can’t wear very little clothing.
I also heard about La Mesa EcoPark in QC which has a swimming pool and picnic grounds and man-made lake.
Hope you feature more resorts and camping sites specially the ones here in Marikina and nearby places such as Pasig, Cainta, Antipolo, Boso Boso, Paenaan, Taytay, Tanay, Angono, Binangonan, San Mateo and Montalban.
      Thanks and more power!

psyche, welcome to the club :D we have the same sentiments with swimwear kaya before, i don’t want to go club manila east because they really require you to wear swimwear but now, their rules are relaxed so it’s currently my fave resort. let me see if i can feature more more resorts and camping sites. thanks!
