Liquor Ban for Barangay and SK Election

It may be a long weekend and it’s a good time to party but there’s a hitch. Effective midnight of Sunday, October 24, liquor ban is being implemented to ensure a peaceful Barangay and SK polls tomorrow.

The ruling was based on Comelec Resolution No. 5096 preventing the sale and intake of alcoholic beverages until the midnight of election day. Those who will violate the ruling will be arrested by the police.

In addition to the ban, the PNP is raised to high alert to ensure an orderly election for the 42,025 barangays nationwide.
