Fun Run in Marikina by Philippine Red Cross

Organizing a “fun run” is fast becoming a popular strategy for fund or income generation for organizations. Why not? Fun runs are friendly races which builds camaraderie between runners and encourage a healthy lifestyle. Marikina is now among the favorite cities for holding fun runs. In fact, the Philippine Red Cross, Marikina City Branch of Rizal Chapter, is organizing a “Run for Humanity” this coming June 19, 2011, Sunday at 4:30AM at the Marikina Sports Park (MSP).

The event commemorates the 152nd Year Anniversary of the Battle of Solferino. Interested runners may register with PHILIPPINE RED CROSS Marikina City Branch of Rizal Chapter located at J.P. Rizal Corner V. Gomez, San Roque, Marikina City. You may call them at 681-7483 , 382-7270, or 09175093053. The event distances and registration fees are as follow:

3K – Php150.00
5K – Php250.00
10K – Php350.00

Download registration form from takbo.ph. Participants will receive a singlet, a race bib and a certificate.

I’m also a Marikenya by heart. I grew up in Marikina. I just had to relocate when I got married, and after Ondoy. I miss so many things about Marikina, one of them being the Marikina Sports Center. Too bad, I found out about this fun run only now. I’ve already made plans for this Sunday. I’ll keep visiting your blog for updates

hi pepper! thanks for the visit! glad another marikenya dropped by! i hope someday you’ll be back in marikina with your family. i loved running too at the msp, wasn’t able to to do that now though. hope we’ll bump to each other there someday.
