Today is American Idol’s finals and our Filipina contender, Jessica Sanchez, just sang her way towards championship. She’s up against Philip Phillips who was America’s favorite judging from the turnout of votes eversince the show’s elimination nights began.  He has never been part of the dreaded bottom three (3). Jessica, on the other hand, is such a powerful singer and an easy shoe-in for the Idol crown but was not popular with the American audience. She was almost eliminated but was saved by the judges. Since then, her her fans (mostly Pinoys and Mexicans from US and in other parts of the world) actively rally for support for Jessica by voting for her via phone and online.

Now is our last time to help Jessica become this year’s American Idol. Even those OUTSIDE OF U.S.  CAN VOTE for her by going to the Facebook Application Page of Idol. Give permission to the Idol Application to access your data and once the app is live, you can vote for Jessica.

Update from abcnews.go.com:

Jessica and Phillips performed at the Nokia Theatre live this morning (Philippine time). For the first round, the contestants sing  Idol’s creator, Simon Fuller, song choices for them. Jessica sang “I Have Nothing”  while Philip sang “Stand By Me.”

For round two, Jessica sang “The Prayer” while Philip sang “Movin Out.” For the last round, Jessica belted her hopefully winning song, “Change Nothing”  while Philip sang “Home.”

If we are to show support to Jessica whose success will ass pride to the Philippines, we have until tomorrow morning to do so. Vote online and pray for Jessica to win! Mabuhay ka Jessica Sanchez! :-)
