The Entertainment Area Upgrade
In this day and age, the crowning glory of every living room or entertainment area is a big and high-end television (TV) set (probably next to having a comfortable sofa or couch). What is a “sala” without a good-performing TV? Most people I know, including me, loves watching television after a day’s work. The TV is among the first things I put into motion upon touching “base” (home). An entertainment area is everything to me as this is my “after work relaxation and bonding (with the family) space” and it simply cannot be without a television.
While lounging last night at our cozy-enough living area, I just felt the need for a better television than what we have. We bought our TV last 2009 and it is a 23-inch semi-flat model with inferior sound quality. Whenever our family go to malls, we usually end end entering an appliance store and get fixated with TVs on display. Initially, my husband and I wanted a plasma TV which we would place below the stairs using a flat mount which would maximize the space of our very small living room. Plasma TVs though are very expensive because of the size and quality. Only a few manufacturers make Plasma TVs and the size range for this special model starts from 42 inches to as big as 65 inches (though there are plasma makers that manufacture beyond 65 inches).
While I am so hoping for an entertainment set upgrade, this wish should wait for a while. The top priority now for our household is the tuition fee and educational needs of our schooling unico hijo (which is truly expensive). It will have to wait but I hope, not for long.
