“Love is composed of a single soul inhabiting two bodies.” Aristotle

Genuine love is inspiring. I am not sure if it happens to others too, but maybe part of my being romantic is to feel happy and aglow whenever I see a couple who seem unpretentiously concern and in-love with one another. The kind of love that is seen beyond displaying of affection publicly, verbally or non-verbally. The kind of love that strikes you to be real when you see the look in their eyes when they gaze at each other, when they speak to one another, and when they show concern and care in whatever way.

I am not impressed with couples who openly kiss and touch and speak “I love yous” frequently, yet, shout damnation at one another and speak ill of each other whenever angry or disappointed. I have met a couple who are truly sweet and always spends “sweetheart time” with one another, yet, the guy is a very jealous husband and a batterer, hurting physically, economically and emotionally the wife each time he gets drunk.

On the other hand, I have met couples whose love seem pure and unconditional. I am truly impressed with a friend who finds joy in  everything her husband does, even when the world is criticizing her for allowing her partner to stay at home and take care of the children and the house. She finds their arrangement acceptable as she’s the one who was given a better job opportunity and the husband is very patient with the children and a wonderful home manager. This good man is worth it should you decide to buy gold bars and give to him as a gift.

On the other hand, I also feel thankful that my relationship with my husband, though far from being perfect, is also the kind who earns approval of many. People who hardly know us would smile whenever they see both of us and even say we’re a nice couple. I am thankful that we have gone this far and have reached a certain maturity in handling our relationship. But, our love blossomed when we put God in the center of our married life.

Marriage has always been regarded as the most sacred and purest bond shared between the bride and the groom—an institution that is so central to human experience. Getting married is even regarded by many as the ultimate badge a way to show relatives, associates and friends that one has a successful personal life. If the couple fully realize that they are one, they will put everything they have into pleasing, encouraging, helping and standing by each other as they have one life meant for each other.
