“What are your choices?  Whom are your choices for? Not just for yourself.  Chose now whom you will serve, and that choice is going to affect the next generation, and the next generation, and the next. Choice never affects just one person alone.  It goes on and on and the effect goes out into geography and history.  You are part of history and your choices become part of history.” Edith Schaeffer

This quote is meaningful to me especially with the decision I made and upheld in the last months. I have decided to deepen my spirituality, and through a friend (who I believe is God’s instrument in assisting me to carry out my resolve), I started reading the scripture and devotion.

Traversing the path of righteousness is challenging and one needs more than a bucketful of faith , determination and perseverance to continue the journey. In this world, people who try to live spiritual lives are condemned, there’s leniency towards vices, and complacency on societal norms and faux customs.

Fortunately for me, God gave me allies, a team to push me when the going gets tough. Through God’s intervention, my husband too was converted.  He is now my support system in making our family devoted to God. What seemed an impossible task was made possible with His grace. For months now, our family remained devoted to God and one another. We have set aside our former vices to be together on weekends to attend worship services and spend quality family time. Instead of going out with friends for beer drinking session or a card game; we stay at home or eat out or play board games or exercise on the wrestling mats or watch a ball game together. Truly, life is better when God is the center of relationships. Happily, this is what our son is seeing and learning, from his parents.

Sharing this journey of our family to this blog’s readers is my way of proclaiming to everyone the glory of God and His grace. That if you believe and become faithful to Him, everything will be possible and your blessings, bountiful. It’s our choice to make, our history to make, for our generation and the generation after.
