Marikenya (or Marikena) is the virtual name of Mhel from Marikina, the webmaster of the site www.MARIKENYA.com. She was born, raised and is still living in Marikina. Not a native or taal na taga-Marikina, but by heart, a true-blooded Marikenya. For the love of writing and her city, Marikina (thus, the site name Marikenya.com), she put up this blog and made it a way of life.
Mhel is a professional trainer and manpower development officer by day, a part-time college instructor by night, a content writer and a graphic designer till the wee hours of any day. She is an extremely creative person whose passions include writing, graphic designing, teaching and traveling.
Her full-time career is “mommyhood” which makes her little boy the essence of her earthly life. A recent spiritual discovery led her faith conversion which entirely changed her outlook about life and living. God is now the center of her whole universe.
MARIKENYA means a local female from Marikina, a proud and glorious city in Metro Manila, Philippines. In Spanish, it is spelled as Marikeña. The male natives of Marikina are called Marikeños. It is also synonymous to Taga-Marikina or someone from Marikina.
