MyPhone S Q27 Duo, A Real Fashionista Phone for Less!

Being a geek fashionista, I’m always on the lookout for new gadgets and techy stuff that are both functional and stylish at the same time. And oh, before I forget, affordability is a major factor to me!

So when I saw the television ad of the stunning Ann Curtis holding a very gorgeous mobile phone with swarovzki crystals, full QWERTy keypad, and slick side-swiveling feature, I know I’m in-love!

Not minding I don’t have a budget yet for a new phone, I head to the mall soon as my schedule permit. I went to SM Marikina Cyberzone, my favorite tech hub, and inquired about MyPhone’s fashion phone. My jaw dropped when I was informed the first unit they have of MyPhone S Q27 was sold some hours ago and they do not have info yet when the new stocks will arrive. I was so depressed not to have a closer look at this ultimate glam phone but wait, I glanced something familiar in the shelf… I thought MyPhone produced my dream fashion phone in different colors but no, I was looking at Cherry Mobile X90 Blush Glam phone models which look exactly the same as the S Q27!

MyPhone is manufactured and distributed locally by Solid Group, Inc., Philippine’s first dual-active sim mobile phone distributor. Cherry mobiles on the other hand are China-made phones. I was told by the salespeople from Cyberzone that Cherry was the first to produce the side-swiveling phone model. Anyway, I’d rather support my own so I asked the salespeople to call me soon as they get their MyPhone S Q27 stock.

MyPhone fashion phone is available in silver finish only with three (3) swarovzki cubic zirconia stones in front and a vanity mirror at the back for quick retouch and makeup check. It boast a dual-active tri-band mode, blutetooth connectivity, 2 megapixerl camera and an FM radio. It’s affordable price is Php6,000+++ only. Anyone thinking of a gift for me, don’t sweat yourself, just think fashion.

Vain Mommies

While I am a fashionista mom, I wouldn’t exactly say I’m vain. In fact, I am not particular about brands when I buy stuff, what matters to me is quality and design. I don’t mind also roaming around the original people’s mall, Divisoria, for good buys. I love buying beautiful and useful things at steal prices.

When it comes to health and beauty though, I know one cannot be cheap. For instance, I cannot trust the fate of my face with cheap unknown facial wash faintly hoping they would not cause much damage. I also recognize the fact that if you wanted to be beautiful, you should invest on it. For instance, when I gave birth to my baby, I was also granted some souvenir, white-colored stretch marks all over my waist and stomach. These marks already faded over the years but they remained an eyesore and would need effective stretch marks cream to really clear it. That is some investment I may also consider getting into.

However, as a mom, what remains to be my priority is my son. I’ve always postponed owning a new bag or grabbing that cute blouse over a nice shirt and cute shoes for my baby. Reality check, parenting oftentimes overpower a mom’s vanity.

Wise Tips in Buying Light Bulbs for Our Homes

Usually, I’m an impulsive buyer or shopper. Luckily, parenting and ‘wifehood’ taught me to become a wiser consumer. Those who are close to me know how I sometimes value aesthetics more than quality and price. Such choices caused me a lot of headaches and frustration after products I bought easily break or become damaged. At least now, I think long and hard before I purchase something out of whim.

Since we always buy light bulbs for any purpose — may it be for the kitchen, the bedroom or to serve as porch lights — I’d like to share with you the things I learned when buying one.

Identify its use to determine what type should you buy, its electric power in watts and design. For instance, for kitchen or living room, we usually require high wattage bulbs while we only need low wattage bulbs for night light or drop lights. Know also where are you putting the bulb, consider the size of the socket or the case it will be inserted in. Make sure it will fit in. Usually, if the casing is small and handy, my practice is to bring it to the store when I buy a bulb replacement to make sure its compatibility and fit.
Research about the different styles of bulbs and its use. An engineer friend told me to buy the compact fluorescent spiral bulb instead of the regular tube lamps or even the circular lamp with the same wattage because it gives more light in comparison.
If you are buying the expensive, branded light bulbs, make sure they are under warranty. More than once, branded light bulbs I bought quit on me after several weeks or months of use which should not be because they are expected to last for a year or so. Learning from my experience, I now ask if the bulb I’m buying is under warranty. Just this weekend, I returned a branded 15 watts light bulb back at the store which is under one-year warranty. Unfortunately, the store people told me they do not have a stock yet for the particular style but assured me they will replace the bulb once the stock arrives.

Late last year, my husband and I were able to avail of the promo mobile phones from Samsung. Aside from freebies such as bags, umbrellas and leather cases, we were able to get cellular phones at less than 7,000 pesos each which was previously priced around 16,000 pesos. Such good bargains!

This year, Samsung is bringing back its Great Samsung Mobile Sale which is putting a long list of its mobile phones on sale along with great discounts and other promo. I am thrilled that my dream phone, Samsung Omnia ProB7320 is on sale for only 11,990 pesos which was previously sold at about 14,000 pesos. Too bad my budget is not ready for a new cell phone. WiFi and touchscreen phones are on sale such as the popular Corby which latest model has now WiFi.

Main participating Samsung shops are located at SM Malls such as SM Marikina Cyberzone. The Great Sale started at March 11, 2010 and will last until April 21, 2010.

When I was a kid, I remember going to garage sales and patiently looking out for good stuff on sale on the seller’s garage floor.

I love garage sales! I love finding bargain stuff, mostly books and educational thingies when I was a child. I love the fact that my nanay would give me some twenty bucks before I ransack a garage sale and would go home happy with small stuff I was able to purchase with my meager shopping money.
