The workshop is very timely as February is declared as Arts Month. The city government, led by Marikina Cultural Tourism, Trade and Investment Promotions Office (MCTTIPO), prepared a lot of exciting activities for the promotion of arts and culture in Marikina this February.

The courses offered for the summer art workshop are the following:

It’s exciting to just think about this project of mine. Owning a house and lot is a crispy dream, something I never thought I’d be able to do in my lifetime. I guess you can say I’m not such a big dreamer. I think I am not which is an effect of growing up poor, I don’t think I am and will be capable of raising such big amount of money. I’m not sure what happened to me but suddenly, I am dreaming big. I wanted my own house and lot and I am hoping I’d be able to accomplish some things towards the realization of this dream this year.

Since this is a dream I broadcasted during my birthday here are this site, I’d be sharing details every now and then the updates on the house project. Last weekend, I attended a seminar for availment of a housing loan. This week, I went over and over the our (my husband and I) choices as to what house and lot to take. To show how determined and serious we are about this project, my husband and I joined a tripping to a potential residential development site somewhere in Rizal. The trip was far but enjoyable. We actually liked the site, it was an overlooking and the community seemed peaceful. It’s a good weekend place, one that we would really enjoy spending time in during off-working days.

While standing in front of the vacant space where the houses will be built, my mind wandered. I am already seeing the house built and me doing the interior design. Since it’s just a dream, I wasn’t cheap in doing the interiors. I can see elegant drapes all over the windows, expensive and attractive Dolan lighting as the living room ceiling centerpiece, luxurious sofa made of soft and velvety clothing, and modern and eye-catching furniture like the big LCD television set. I hope I will not stop thinking of this wonderful dream but as they say, all good things come to an end.

I know it will not happened that way. I know my dream interior design will not be followed as it would require a lot of money. Nevertheless, I am truly happy just thinking about a possible acquisition of that dream house and lot. Okay, I gotta stop talking and begin working to raise some money for the house so bye for now.

Globe Telecom just pisses me. I tried not writing about them in the past months but Globe tested my patience months ago and drove me off the wall.

First offense. My globe bundle (internet and landline) was cut after Ondoy. That’s reasonable but what happened after wasn’t. I called Globe Customer Service for like million times for reconnection of my line and they keep on telling me they’re still doing repairs. It was hard to call customer service at that time and it took so much of my time to call them up and get connected. Anyway, when they were already able to repair the line, the repair people told us they won’t be able to do it because there were mud below the electric post where the globe wires were adn just call them up when the mud are gone. I was pissed, totally irritated but kept my cool.

Second Offense. After a week of putting my line back (finally), I received a bill stating I have to pay some P2,500+++! What?! I called customer service a lot of times and talked to different ones all the while lamenting what they’re putting me up with. Each one promised to do something about the problem. No one called me back after the promises.

Third Offense. A week after, I got another billing stating I now have to pay more than 3,500+++! What again??!!! My insanity is breaking down from stress. I called up customer service again and was promised more and… No one called me back.

Fourth Offense. They cut my line for non-payment. This is the part where I stopped calling customer service and personally stormed at their real office at SM Marikina. In fairness, the customer service was cool and was cordial, he immediately responded to my concerns and we made amends. My line was restored. I had to pay more than what I feel I should pay but at least he responded to my concerns.

Fifth Offense. They sent me a bill not honoring my previous conversation and agreement with the customer service at SM Marikina. I was furious like hell. I stormed again at Globe SM Marikina. A new customer service listened to my angry woes and resolved it again. I paid another hefty sum but I was okay with that believing that my concerns were addressed.

Sixth Offense. They cut my line yesterday. I wanted to scream damnations to Globe. I wanted to go directly to NTC and recommend for the termination of their license. They’re totally unforgivable. I called customer service to tell them about this and I was simply told: oo nga ma’am, nag-reflect nga po ang binayaran nyo” (yes ma’am, your payment reflected on the system). I promised not to swear names again but this time, I can’t help it!

Globe is totally hateable. I’ve been their loyal mobile subscriber for four years before this happened. I trusted their service that’s why I availed of their Globe Bundle promo. If I was not lock with their service for a year, I would have gladly disconnected myself from them forever. I gave Globe a chance but they only fooled me, twice, thrice… six times!

If you’re thinking of switching to Globe or availing of any Globe Telecom Services, think again and think some more. If you wanted your life in hell, yes, become a Globe subscriber. Good luck.

For some time now, my thoughts were occupied by this and honestly, I do not like it. I don’t want to grow old. Period.

When I was younger, I’ve always told my friends (never my family because I may scare them) that I do not want to live past thirty. I felt at that time that the life of a grown up wasn’t fun plus I don’t want an aging body and face. Yes, I was shallow and thankfully, I’ve matured and overgrown that thought because I am now thirty-three and still very much alive.

Nevertheless, that fear of old age is still within me somewhere. Worrying me, haunting me. I wanted to be young forever. That’s not possible I know but I am quite sure, many people out there share the same thoughts. Who wouldn’t want eternal youth right? Now, I sound like someone from a fantaserye. I guess if you become a mother, you simply wanted to live forever to be with your child. You wouldn’t want to grow up so you can catch up with his youth and remain a fun mom to be with.

However, my hubby have different thoughts. He said he wanted to grow old in style. He said he wanted to be like Al Pacino, visiting casinos riding limos or chevy and smoking the finest Avo cigars. He’s being crazy and dreamy. But in a way, I like the thought. I can see myself as an old matrona in a flashy car hitting ballroom discos and wearing my branded shoes and bags!

It’s not bad to grow old in style right? If you worked hard in your youth and gave your all to make your family and your life better, why not dream for some life comfort as an aging adult? The truth though is even if I work 24/7 today, I would still not live my dream lifestyle, that’s why it will remain as a dream. No harm in dreaming right?

Having the Marikina Renal Care Dialysis Center is another milestone in health care services for a local government like Marikina. Now, those who cannot afford expensive dialysis treatment for renal failure problems have a low-cost option.

The Renal Dialysis Center is located at the fourth floor of the Marikina Healthy City Center along Shoe Avenue at barangay Sto. Nino. It is open from Monday to Friday, from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

Dialysis may be used for very sick patients who have suddenly but temporarily, lost their kidney function (acute renal failure) or for quite stable patients who have permanently lost their kidney function (stage 5 chronic kidney disease).

Hair fall is a common aging problem right? My husband share the same dilemma as I do but his “problem” is much bigger than mine (see his photos from previous articles). I used to have long, straight and thick hair which was my crowning glory back in high school. My hair started thinning out when I delivered my first born and since then, it never stopped thinning out.

In my efforts to grow my hair back the way it used to be, I already tried some simple solutions like hair loss shampoos, hair strengthening solutions, and even aloe vera mixtures. Any idea what effective hair vitamins to put on or take to fight hair loss?
