Entrepreneurship Made Easy. Some Tips on Small Business Management.

April 10, 2008 · Filed Under business, general · Comment

There are different kinds of business for different people. Online businesses is now blooming but to some, it doesn’t work. My best friend just ventured into a small food business and I’m very happy for him, he’s happy I think but very stressed.

Stress is always a component, a part and parcel, of any real business (meaning a business in the real world, not the virtual type of businesses). I think the pressure is higher for those operating in the real world because of the different costs and expenses it entails. For my friend, I advised him to keep a book, a simple accounting book that would help him track down the coming in and going out of money in his food store. It’s very important to do this so the business man would know if the store is indeed losing or gaining. I also advised him to put labor or manpower costs which includes his and her wife’s salary in the book. This is the common mistake of small entrepreneurs (specially those operating in the informal economy), they don’t include their salaries or wages in the operating expenses so they thought they were earning or earning much but in reality, they were either losing or just making a break-even.

For those with businesses who are hoping for more productivity, one of the strategy is using
Refurbished point of sale. POS or point of sale are equipment or softwares that aids the retailers in inventory and other aspects of the business. Using refurbished pos are more inexpensive than using the new ones but if you wanted branded and brand new equipment and software, try ibm surepos pos.

Selecting the right POS would help business to lower inventory costs. Much more, it;s advantageous in providing excellent customer service so it will improve your productivity and sales.

Small Business Loan in Helping You Start Your Own Online Business

April 3, 2008 · Filed Under blogging, business · 6 Comments

We all know that starting a business means big expenditures and risk-taking. In terms of costs, you worry about the rent, the construction or structure, the permits, bills, etc. In terms of risks, there is the possibility of losses or bankruptcy.

Those kind of worries are indeed reasonable. It would be very hard to gamble hard earned money for uncertain results. However, there is now an alternative to “real businesses,” cheaper and with patience, probably more profitable. Starting an online business is probably the best idea specially for those who are low in cash. No rents to worry, only domain and hosting which is something like 2k in a year. No more taxes and infrastructure, there are already choices of different free themes and templates for your site.

However, if you’re still low on dollars in your account to open your own virtual business, you may get a loan from one of the best financing for Small Business Loans, the ezunsecured dot com. Since they offer easy process and fast funding, you can immediately start your own business and of course, profit from it.

Business 101

February 5, 2008 · Filed Under business, general · 1 Comment

I handled a training course once on Finanacial Management for SMEs (Small and Medium Entrepreneurs). It was a really interesting mixture of business-minded individuals who have different principles and ideas about business management but all wanting the same —more profitable income from their ventures.

One of my participants was a housewife and employee who in her desire to start her own eatery, took the chance of getting business loans from small-time lenders with high interest charges. When she opened this to the group, a reaction was immediate from a participant who’s a single mom and a catering services proprietor telling her “starting a business from a loan is not lucky according to feng-shui.” The others then piped in and we had quite a lengthy discussion on the subject because half or more of the participants actually started their commerce by getting Business Loans.

Great Service is a Choice.
The Secret Recipe in Delivering Customer Service

November 7, 2007 · Filed Under business, general, relationship, self-help · Comment

In my years as a trainor, I have developed a critical eye and taste in everything — whether in what I do or what others do. Among the things I love criticizing is the kind of service any public or private enterprises provides.

Let me start my blogs on Customer Service with this Cab’s Driver Story, it’s interesting and inspiring.

Great Service is a Choice.
(Excerpt from The Simple Truths of Service)

No one can make you serve customers well. That’s because great service is a choice. Years ago, my friend, Harvey Mackay, told me a wonderful story about a cab driver that proved this point. He was waiting in line for a ride at the airport. When a cab pulled up, the first thing Harvey noticed was that the taxi was polished to a bright shine. Smartly dressed in a white shirt, black tie, and freshly pressed black slacks, the cab driver jumped out and rounded the car to open the back passenger door for Harvey. He handed my friend a laminated card and said:

“I’m Wally, your driver. While I’m loading your bags in the trunk I’d like you to read my mission statement.”
