Recuperating from Hosting Scam

Since I came back from Iloilo last weekend, I already avoided the feeling of needing time for resting and sleeping. Relaxing, even for some time, is not allowable at this point.

After Marikenya.com rested for days because of being victimized by a fraud hosting service, it was reverted to a sorry state last Sunday which ruined my stress-free weekend at Iloilo. I attended a seminar in the said province but the whole trip was so relaxing and fun. Once back, I needed to complete the prelim exam questionnaires for my two college classes, design and facilitate various trainings, and design different promotional materials. In short, this week is one the hardest week for me in terms of work load.

Effects of The Hosting Scam

It’s been almost a week now after I was scammed by a pretentious hosting company but I can’t still move forward easily. There’s so much to be done (because I almost lost everything), but I’m confused and too depressed to start somewhere.

I still can’t believe this all happened. I’ve worked so hard to establish marikenya.com and in a matter of seconds, my site’s gone from the blogosphere along with my money (the advance payment for a year-worth of hosting). It was all too… surreal.

I wanted to cry but even my tears won’t go down. I was too stunned to think and decide what to do next. It was only after a day I made my first move by seeking the help of a good friend Neil who helped me establish marikenya.com and who hosted my site for years. Thank God for his immediate action, I was able to put marikenya.com online again but my articles from later part of March to July are all gone and not retrievable anymore. The reality is way too depressing for me.

Marikenya.com is Back!

After almost tree (3) difficult days of downtime, www.MARIKENYA.com is up and running! The story about this downtime is a long one and once I’m done with the important things I need to put back to this site, I would give you a complete rundown of what transpired why this blog site was down for days and what miseries I experienced because of what happened.

In the meantime, I would like to give my sincerest gratitude to the following:

  • God, for making me think clearly despite the panic attacks and sudden emotional bursts due to depression;
  • Neil, for saving me once again and helping me get through the mess. He’s the one responsible for bringing back Marikenya.com to life;
  • Avid blogger friends and readers, for notifying me and expressing concern about the site’s downtime. Thanks people!

    The cause for all this site’s miseries is our hosting service provided Eznet-hosting of www.eznet-hosting.com, which simply ran away with my sites’ databases and one-year advance hosting payment for my two blogs. This site just decided to abandon its subscribers just like that. I don’t know how we’ll ever get back to this hosting company but we will definitely not take this sitting down.

    To all of this site’s subscribers, thank you for patiently waiting for the site to go up and please bear with me while I am trying to put back in order. I’ve lost four-month-long articles as a setback of this event but I wanted to always look at the bright side of things. So again, thank you for remaining an avid reader and subscriber of this blog.
