Happy But Sunburned
Our summer getaway this weekend was blessed. At first, we thought our swimming plans will be jeopardized by Cosme, the typhoon. At about 7 am, the sun already smiled as if encouraging us to push through with our plans so we did. We headed to the pool before 9 am.
Pops, my lady friend and I, were the only ones who worry so much about the effect of our day swimming in our skin. Why not? We were using top wrinkle cream and whitening lotions and ointments whole-year. Anyway, because the sun was not showing much when we reached the resort, we did not bother anymore putting on sunblocks. In the afternoon, we realized we’re already burned big time especially my son, who thought he was the male version of Dyesebel. He swam the whole afternoon and when we already asked him to finally hit the shower, we all laughed at his white buttocks (which was shielded by his swimming trunks) in contrast to his very dark sunburned color.
Finally, A Summer Getaway!
Summer may already be over but not for me. Together with my family and my closest friends, off we went to Club Manila East, the rave resort in Taytay Rizal.
It was actually my fourth time to visit the resort but it has become one of my favorites for a lot of reasons so I was still excited. First, it’s only a thirty to forty minute drive from Marikina and secondly, the resort is so big and when I last went there, they have five big pools with slides,
kayaks, and beach waves!
This year, they even added 4 more pools and me and my friends personally loved the new pool with an island in the middle and with running water that allows swimmers on big rubber tubes glide the long pool stretch. It is called the Buzzy River and it’s really awesome!
Going to Club Manila East is my local and inexpensive version of visiting Oahu, the dream island in Hawaii where there are activities visitors may indulge in aside from swimming. For instance, while staying in Hale Kai Villa at Turtle Bay, you may try surfing, playing tennis or even a relaxing spa massage.
