Identity Theft Alert
The other day, I received an email and text from a friend of mine with the following message:
Guys, I found out that my yahoo email address was hacked and now being used by someone pretending to be me. I can’t log in anymore and that person sends emails to people in my directory telling them I badly needed money and I’m in Nigeria.
When I received her message, I was really worried. For some time now, I’ve heard stories about hacked paypal accounts, hacked ebay accounts, hacked email accounts and even hacked blogs! I was disturbed by those stories but now, I’m really afraid. It happened to a friend of mine so I feel that the reality of identity thefts are closing in.
Not to mention cyber identity thefts are not the only problem, crimes in the real world regarding these kind of thefts are also becoming rampant. Just in our company, a number of people were charged by their credit cards for using it to shop and even withdraw cash advances. Apparently, their cards were either stolen or were not even received by the rightful owners when sent by the credit card companies. There were also problems with cellphone bills, long-distance charges and just recently, I’ve heard stories about receiving loan and amortization notices by people who were not aware that such loans existed!
It is indeed clear that we have an escalating problem on identity theft so let me share with you some tips on how to avoid being a victim of one:
Online Store Anyone?
Want to Open an Online Store?
Tips and Tricks on Getting One and Becoming Successful.
We all blog mainly for two reasons — first is because we love to blog (blogging is addictive I say!) and second, because there is money in blogging.
Since I started my blog a couple of months now, I’ve been experimenting continuously on adding and removing features on it that I deem necessary. Just yesterday, I’ve ventured into another business tactic for my blog. I opened my Marikenya’s Online Store! I’ve been a seller a in ebay for more than a year now and selling online has been a really good source of income for me and I believe having my own store will be more exciting and more lucrative!
Let’s say I’ve been so convincing that you now wanted to have your very own online store. Here are some of the steps to take in getting one:
1. Decide on the kind or type of products to sell. Will it be fashion products? Electronics or gadgets perhaps? It may be goodies for home improvement or even digital scrapbooking designs… The key in choosing your product is knowing what interest you and the availability of raw materials or suppliers to get your items from.
2. Get an ecommerce software. Make selling easy and fun by getting a an ecommerce software that offers total solution to a seller like the hosting provided by ecommerce software. Choose one that is affordable, easy to use, offers a 24/7 technical support and one that will get you on top of the search engines.

Ebay Philippines Now Charge Fees!
Ebay Philippines has been my hobby and a good source of income for the last months. Although I became a member a couple of years back, I just concentrated and focused on my ebay life just this year. I really am a testimonial of an online-shopper and internet hobbyist turned into a small-time entrepreneur because of ebay.
Months back, I can list and sell all my items, new and preowned, at ebay without any worry! I just need to take time to take pictures of my stuff and be creative in describing it and voila, days after, I already have a sale! It was really fun! Imagine having to auction and actually sell items I don’t need or don’t want anymore! I got addicted to selling that even my husband’s and my son’s bikes and shorts, I auctioned and sold at ebay!
