Father’s Day at the Park
How will I describe the father’s day at our household? Fulfilling.
It was a disaster at first with me forgetting to greet my husband when he came home from work at six in the morning. I only realized he was waiting for it when my mother greeted him and he said, “it’s only nanay who remembered.” That was the perfect time for me to bring out the wrist watch I bought for him as a father’s day gift.
After lunch, we went to the Riverpark with his clan to celebrate father’s day. It was fun especially for the kids who immediately went to the bike rentals, hopped on to the saddles and biked their way around the park.
See my Oly in action as he patiently put on the socks and shoes of our baby. Happy father’s day Honey! You’re every inch of a father and I love you so much for that.
Story of a Father
Today, when my friend and I went to my favorite cake shop to buy sylvannas, we found this on sale:
These cakes are adorable. I loved these cakes because it reminded me as the perfect gift for the best father in the world — my Tatay. These cakes are not very expensive, they’re priced reasonably and affordably despite its elegance and mouth-watering deliciousness. I compare the likes of these cakes to my father’s love — priceless yet given freely and unconditionally.
There was not a time I did not shed a tear whenever the memory of my Tatay crossed my mind. Tonight, while I was looking at his picture lovingly holding my son, I cried uncontrollably. I misses him so much and I regret the times I caused him pain. Tatay, I know you are always with us in spirit. I know you love us more than your life. Thank you for everything… for the toy train, for the apple, for bringing me to your work… for every small and big things you have done for me, for all of us. You may not be the perfect father but for me, you’re the best. I don’t fear death because of you, knowing that you and my son will be waiting for me in the next life. I love you so much and I pray in my heart, you know this. Father’s day is for you, for the man who gave me my life and showed me how to live it well.
