Fat and Fab?
The other day while I was looking at the applicants for the SM Jobs Fair, a lady came to me. She was very pretty but flabby. I added the word “but” because she was applying for a job where thin women only qualifies and naturally, she was rejected.

Do you want to be Happy or Sad?
The Guide to Living the Life You Want
Life is what we make it. Happiness is an option. Either we see the glass half-full or half-empty, it’s our choice.
At 30, life has taught me a lot of lessons. These lessons are sometimes painful and hard to accept but I’ve learned also the best way to face it: cry it out, shrug it off, then move on to face a new life’s lesson.
Last night, i received a text message from a friend. It says: “Life is a matter of perspective, either you complain because roses have thorns or you rejoice because thorns have roses. It all depends on how you look at it.”
Want a Wrinkle-Free Life?
The Ultimate Guide to a Happy Life
I realized last night before going to bed that at 31, I’m such a worrier. I worry about a lot of things — those that definitely matters like bills, budgeting, my son’s education and even serious issues like old age and sickness. At times, I even worry about unimportant concerns that are not even worth mentioning.
When I looked at the mirror this morning, I have realized that I already have very visible lines in my face, lines they call wrinkles. Oh man, they look worser than my permanent eye bags! Worrying is such a pain to a beautiful skin (since when I became so vain?).
Anyway, this morning, I resolved to using more products with reduce wrinkles and get a more youthful look adage and of course, as I always say, more often than not, it is all a matter of attitude.
So today, I hope to live my life better. Here are the things I hope to do, cost-free, to try to reduce my wrinkles:

Beauty Is Skin Deep
Proper Grooming in a Sensical Perspective
Just recently, I have designed a short module on proper grooming. It struck me as odd that while I believe that beauty is definitely not skin deep, I would soon be running a module on how to make one look prettier or handsomer to be more presentable.
Although it’s good that the jobs now in call centers does not require applicants to be physically attractive, for many companies though, they still wanted good-looking personnel. Take Shoe Mart (SM) for example, this company is really high on aesthetics. Their justification is since they’re selling products, they should only hire “personable” people to sell for them.
It’s not a wonder then that people who can afford really spend to improve their appearances. In the past, we often hear about going to the derma for a facial. These days, chemical peel (skin peel/skin care) and what we consider in the past major operations like nose lifting or bust enhancement are now considered typical.
For me though, I would only go as far as skin peeling, for example, the ones being offered by TCA peel so I’d get rid of the blemishes and blotches in my face. Although I’m not very high on worldly appearance, I find solace and confidence in knowing that somehow, my face is not a disgrace. This is especially important because as a trainor, my participants are usually looking at my face.

Thoughts On Working
A brilliant, gifted employee who slouches during the day and spends hours doing doing personal calls may not last. Low-key worker who puts in the hours and goes the extra mile can bring in more results and thus enjoy the recognition of his superiors.
It all comes down to one’s inner commitment to the work, the company, the clients, and ultimately his own passion for his job.
Smile Out
Smile In
“Smile at the world and the world will smile back at you.”
Every morning, whether I woke with a bad headache or still groggy from a bad sleep, the first thing I do is smile. It doesn’t matter if I like to smile at that time. I force myself to do it because it’s a nice habit and I always feel a little better afterwards.
It was a habit I learned from one of my favorite utility personnel from our company, Manang Letty. My routine is going to work very early in the morning, between 6 to 6:30 AM but despite my being among the earliest, I always arrived at work with a smiling Manang Letty who at the time of my arrival already cleaned half of the building of the city hall! She was an amazing woman! You would never see a trace of weariness or irritation even after serving for more than 8 hours a day for only a hundred peso pay!
Her smile is always contagious and never cease on making me feel better. With her smile, I would somehow forget I had a fight with my husband or had a very tiring day or will face a dreadful day at work. her enthusiasm and cheerfulness inspired me to share the gift.
There was a cliche that it takes more muscles to frown than to smile and although it may be wrong (there were already opposing claims about this fact), I don’t care. Smiling makes me feel good and if I can help making others feel a little better too with my smile, I don’t mind stressing my muscles a little more.
Our Childish Dream of Changing the World
In my educational psychology class, I have discussed the school of thoughts and me and my fellow classmates were fascinated with a particular philosophy that teaches that man are inherently good.
That teaching struck me as relevant to this article I’m writing about everyone’s childish dream of making a difference. Isn’t it that when we were born, our parents told us were special and meant to become somebody important?

How Much Do We Understand People?
To Advice or Not To Advice.
From the previous entry: The Schools of Thought and the Paradox of Life
I have promised in my last entry on Psychology and its School of Thoughts that I would be providing a test on how to gauge our mastery or level of understanding of people. This quiz is taken from the book Understanding of Psyhology by Richard Kasschau, Ph.D. I actually gave this quiz to my classmates when I reported on the topic of Nature and Scope of Psychology and not surprisingly, all failed.
See for yourself!
Take the Quiz.
