Moms, Be Careful When Shopping for School Supplies. Read My National Book Store Experience.
The school season just started this week and until last week and even up to this day, mothers are very busy preparing the things their kids need for school. This includes trips to the book and department stores to buy school supplies, bags, shoes, etc. I was one of these moms and I headed to the National Bookstore (NBS) in Robinson’s Metro East last weekend to scout for a trolley bag for my little Marikenyo.
When we came to NBS, it was not surprising that it was totally crowded with parents and even children making last-minute shopping for school supplies. I was lax with my bag since I was thinking, I’m in the mall, not in Divisoria or a market. After some time, I heard the guy beside me saying a little louder “mag-ingat sa mandurukot” (be careful with snatchers). I immediately looked for my MP4 which I placed in the pocket of my bag and learned that the zipper was opened and the only thing left is the earphones. My MP4 was stolen while I was browsing for school supplies right inside the National Bookstore!

Online Store Anyone?
Want to Open an Online Store?
Tips and Tricks on Getting One and Becoming Successful.
We all blog mainly for two reasons — first is because we love to blog (blogging is addictive I say!) and second, because there is money in blogging.
Since I started my blog a couple of months now, I’ve been experimenting continuously on adding and removing features on it that I deem necessary. Just yesterday, I’ve ventured into another business tactic for my blog. I opened my Marikenya’s Online Store! I’ve been a seller a in ebay for more than a year now and selling online has been a really good source of income for me and I believe having my own store will be more exciting and more lucrative!
Let’s say I’ve been so convincing that you now wanted to have your very own online store. Here are some of the steps to take in getting one:
1. Decide on the kind or type of products to sell. Will it be fashion products? Electronics or gadgets perhaps? It may be goodies for home improvement or even digital scrapbooking designs… The key in choosing your product is knowing what interest you and the availability of raw materials or suppliers to get your items from.
2. Get an ecommerce software. Make selling easy and fun by getting a an ecommerce software that offers total solution to a seller like the hosting provided by ecommerce software. Choose one that is affordable, easy to use, offers a 24/7 technical support and one that will get you on top of the search engines.

Mhel: Nope, I’m not Okay, I’m Stressed.
Oly the Hubby: I see. Go get some rest
Mhel: Nope, I’m going to the mall, I need to Shop!
Familiar scenario? If so, then you’re just addicted to shopping as I am! My problem is really my being a terribly compulsive buyer, a really shopping addict. I shop whenever I can, especially If I have more money than what I need in my wallet. I shop for things I don’t need, and at times, won’t ever need or use. I have a lot of stuff I bought which never even saw the light of day.
My husband would just roll his eyes whenever he would see the clutter lying in our room which mainly were my kikay stuff that wouldn’t fit the drawers or the closet anymore. It is a problem indeed and I know that (much as I hate to admit it…).
So, at the onset of 2008, among my resolutions is to cure my fascination for shopping and end my being a compulsive buyer. I’ve written my Personal Tips for Compulsive Buyers Like Me on how to Stop wasting money and Save for a change. Here goes —
