Is Summer Over?
The weather in the Philippines has been somewhat unpredictable. One day, we were under the terribly hot summer sun and then the next day, it was raining and with forecast of typhoons. During the last weeks, I attempted to put color in my summer mood by writing articles about dream vacations and summer travels. I was hoping to be in one of those this year but the summer is almost over and I still haven’t been to beaches or out of town.
Last week, I got an invite from a balikbayan friend to Puerto Galera, the beach hub in Mindoro. To my dismay (again), my schedule was a havoc and I wasn’t able to go with them. In order to pacify my self from my ruined summer gimmick, I have decided to write about bora bora, one of the ultimate summer destinations in the world.
It’s Still Summer So I’m Still Dreaming
I have written about some places and even countries I would love to be this summer but I haven’t mentioned my ultimate summer dream: a vacation spree in the land of bikinis and thongs, Hawaii.
Not because I wanted to wear those (in my dreams!) but because when you hear the word Hawaii, it’s almost synanimous with phrase “the most beautiful beaches in the world.” It’s like the popularity of Boracay in the Philippines (and some parts of the world), but Hawaii is a popular beach destination worldwide.

More Summer Dreams…
It’s still summer right? So, I’m still up dreaming for summer getaways. Fortunately, in real life, I still haven’t been out of town since the dawn of the summer sun. Pity me.
That’s the beauty of having the liberty to dream whatever you want. I get to go to places I’ve always wanted to be — without the hassle of getting a passport (I still don’t have one), a visa, or worrying about the fare and spending money.
Where would I wanna go this time? To where everyone wanted to go I guess — Thailand! This country is among the most popular vacation spot in South East Asia. Just last week, one of my colleague’s wife who’s a top brass in a big pharmaceutical company just went on a tour to Phuket, Thailand It was sponsored by her company who Rent holiday villas & condos in Thailand for her. I was green with envy but of course, happy for her.

Another Summer Dream
Just this morning, I visited the blog of a good friend The Islander and was amazed at the photos of his travel in a local beach in Surigao. I again thought of my summer dreams for this year.
Among these summer fancies is spending family holidays in Greece. Since I have watched movies with setting in Greece, I have always thought of Greece holidays. It’s a beautiful country with beautiful beaches.
Of course, due to budget constraints, it would definitely be cheap Greece holidays for me if ever. Nonetheless, I know it will be a perfect summer and lying on these Greek beaches, I don’t mind being sunburned.
